On-playa belly dance happenings... are RARE this year!

Here's what I've gathered:

Iron Rose Hafla
Tuesday Night, 8-11pm
Iron Rose, on A at 4:30.
Middle-eastern music, bellydancers, fabulous drinks and even more fabulous friends and visitors! Come dressed in your best Thobe and Abaya! Toss on a hip-scarf and shimmy the night away, Habibi! (How many burners can we fit in a Big Red Pill?)

Black Rock Diner and Casbah

We've expanded the Black Rock Diner into something with a bit of Moroccan casbah vibe. We will have a very large area, a stage, and acoustic musicians and other music in the afternoon. Our Diner is open midnight-4am. For either time period, we're inviting dancers to help add to the vibe.

Veil Dancing - For Pleasure and Performance
Tuesday, August 31st, 2010 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Lady O invites all ladies of all persuasions to explore their sensual sides in a veil dance. Using folk dancing techniques from various traditions, we will learn to dance with the veil for our own enjoyment and entertainment.

Basic Belly Dance

Stop by the White Dragon Noodle Bar for an afternoon of dance. Starting from the bottom up we'll cover hip movements, chest pops, arms, and shimmies. Ramp-Up to the White Procession
Wednesday night/Thursday morning: Midnight-4:30am
Camp of the Rising Sun, 6:30 & Esplanade
We've got internationally-acclaimed DJs (the likes of GlobalRuckus and Joro Boro!), regionally-reknowned tribal fusion bellydancers (Endymienne, Jasmine Rain, and more!) but really, WE WANT YOU. WORLD DANCE PARTY. Tribal Style through and through. Global thumping beats to gather new friends and family. Dancers cycling through stage time as solos and organically-inspired duets, trios, and group improv-style tribal bellydance. Invite your neighbors to join in!"

Retreat from the heat in our oasis! Soothing henna tattoos, refreshing Moroccan mint tea, fine Turkish tobacco hookahs and occasional belly dancers.
